Georges Jacob founded a dynasty of three generations of cabinetmakers who distinguished themselves during the reign of every French king from Louis XV to Louis-Philippe. Jacob was a tireless creator of new forms, particularly inspired by English and Chinese furniture and antique designs. The arm posts, crafted with particular originality, are characteristic of his desire to link the chair’s component parts together.
