Marquetry decoration of flowers tied with ribbons. A central drawer forms a writing table; two side compartments open to reveal hidden drawers that open with a spring mechanism. David Roentgen, cabinetmaker and mechanical engineer to the King and Queen, was renowned for his precision mechanics and delicate marquetry decoration.
