In 1954, Jean Prouvé won the competition for furnishing the dining rooms, the cafeteria and 148 student bedrooms at the Cité Universitaire Jean Zay in Antony.
Jean Prouvé adapted existing models of chairs and tables. But he also specially designed a model of chair in moulded plywood: the Lounge Chair Antony, the supple lines of which prove that economy of means and functionality of furniture take nothing away from formal interest.
