The Fondation Jean Dubuffet

The Fondation Jean Dubuffet, established by the artist in 1974, is managed and run by its secretariat, based in a building on the Rue de Sèvres in Paris, acquired previously by Jean Dubuffet to exhibit his Collection of Art Brut that is now in Lausanne. A location for a permanent exhibition but mainly a centre for study and research, the Fondation conserves and uses the archives from which all its activities are developed.

The Fondation owns premises in the Val-de-Marne, at Périgny-sur-Yerres, where the sculptures and paintings given by the artist are exhibited to the public, as well as two jewels of the collection: the Closerie Falbala, and the costumes and sets for the show Coucou Bazar. Dubuffet passed on his moral rights to the Fondation Dubuffet which follows commissions of monumental sculptures, participates actively in the organization of exhibitions, manages publication projects, and updates the catalogue of works that today includes nearly 10,000 recorded works and issues certifications of authenticity.
