A leading figure of American studio glass, having made teamwork his modus operandi, Dale Chihuly is certainly the best known glass maker of his generation. The Sea Forms he developed during the 1980s are in the lineage of Venetian lightness, versatility and fragility. The splendour of corals, the flexibility of seaweed and the preciousness of certain shells seem to have met in his “glass objects” as he likes to call them.
