The model Boule, which was given its name by Jean Royère, is also known as Banane and Ours Polaire and was originally designed for his mother’s apartment in Paris. The sinusoid so prized by this decorator is laid out here in three dimensions to give a fluid and audacious form emphasized by the yellow colour of the fluffy velvet with which it is covered. Although it exists in several variations, this sofa, the frame and casing of which are invisible, is also an example of technical prowess
