Ruth Francken has frequently changed her means of visual expression. Her works offer a range of unusual, efficent and highly symbolic shapes. The homme chair incarnates man, which the artist did not sculpt, but made from a plaster mould of the body of a man sitting on a chair for a Parisian gallery, Christiane and Eric Germain. This location, opened in 1970, specialized in the production of utilitarian objects created by artists is a real manifesto.
