from 31 August to 5 September 2021

The Musée des Arts Décoratifs will unveil the exhibition Bonne Arrivée. Métiers d’Art Africains. Design Contemporain, a project organized by the Les Oiseaux Migrateurs collective, launched in 2014 by Mamadou and Youssouf Fofana.

A selection of hand-crafted fashion ensembles from Sub- Saharan Africa, the exhibition will highlight contemporary fashion and design as well as crafts that reveal the ancestral techniques used in Sub-Saharan design such as fiber weaving, natural dyeing techniques, ceramics, and basketry work. “Bonne Arrivée. Métiers d’Art Africains. Design Contemporain” will be held in the Central Hall of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs over six days and will invite the visitor to participate in lectures and discussions while enjoying African musical programs.
