The display in this room illustrates the evolution of gilt bronze from the late seventeenth to the late eighteenth century when Paris became the prime production center. A selection including mantel and wall clocks, vases, candelabra, wall sconces, chandeliers, door handles, keyholes and faucets is presented according to period and purpose, showcasing the varied use of chasing and gilding.
