Each of these Louis XV corner cupboards has a curved door veneered with a Japanese lacquer panel decorated with a landscape. The concave sides and lower cross brace are decorated with “vernis Martin,” a Parisian varnish imitating lacquer. An ornate rococo gilt bronze decoration covers the seams between the lacquer and the varnish.
