In 1974, driven by the need to invent a cheap plastic toy following the oil crisis, Hans Beck created Playmobil figures and revolutionized the world of toys. Their neutral face and the multitude of accessories that accompany them provide infinite possibilities for play and allow the child’s imagination to take power, while earlier figurines were fixed in a single pose and were mostly from the worlds of sport and war.
