This suite is composed of eight “fauteuil à la reine” armchairs, two cabriolet wing chairs and a settee. The upper rail of the curved back is topped by a garland of roses and two palm leaves, and there are pine cones at the shoulders. The arm posts are scroll shaped, the apron is carved with a frieze of interlacng and rosettes and the legs are spirally fluted. The sides of the settee are composed of carved gilt panels decorated with horns of plenty and quivers on a gray-painted background. The upholstery of the backs, seats and arm pads is attached to moveable frames fitted into the structure of the seat, except for the wing chairs, which have fixed upholstery covered with petit point tapestry. This furniture suite came from the collection of General Baron de Charette.
