The presentation in this room, dedicated to the theme of travel, is based on six large decorative compositions from the 1790s by Hubert Robert. It features late eighteenth-century furniture pieces that could be dismantled or folded (a steel and gilt bronze bed; a steel and mahogany writing desk; a table-parasol by Martin-Guillaume Biennais) together with travel cases and souvenirs associated with the nascent practice of tourism, such as terracotta and porcelain reproductions of the famous tomb of Madame Langhans and her child, located in a church near Basel.
