The front part of the table top folds down to form a writing desk. The apron contains a tier of three drawers at the back, opened by a mechanism. The marquetry decoration features “bottomless cubes.” One of the desk drawers is inscribed with the name of Simon Poirier, the marchand-mercier who sold these precious furniture pieces at the time.
