A designer from Israel based in London, Ron Arad has given his creations an artistic and sculptural value. Chair by its Cover is conceived as a protective envelope around an example of the iconic Zig-Zag chair designed in the early 1930s by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld. The internal reflective surface sends back a distorted and strange image of Rietveld’s chair which is thus placed in a dramatic setting.
